20th Feb 2015. The dev team here in RTÉ Digital were suiting up for the #DMA2015 awards. It was brought to our attention, the various “other” awards up for grabs on the night including “Best bow tie”…

With little time we got thinking about what we could do to compete. Our PM Gary Fogarty then says:

it would be great to you could use an app on your phone as a bow tie…

“Thats sure to win!” we thought so we decided to throw together a quick webapp for the awards. We are fans of the Foundation framework here in Digital and they had recently started recommending using Ken Wheeler’s Slick Carousel over their own Orbit carousel. To get the full screen effect on ios we used the Clear Browser app
